When Jason Parks (Landy Cannon) invites his three best friends and ex-girlfriend on a weekend camping trip, his dreams of reconciling with the love of his life quickly turn into a nightmare when his friend Renee (Julia Schneider) attempts to contact the spirit of a young girl who has been haunting her dreams. The fun and games quickly turn to life and death when the ritual works and the little lost girl, Summer Vale (Brigitte Kingsley) bursts onto the scene, all grown up and armed with a battle axe. What follows is a campy romp that is equal parts horror, science fiction and high comedy.

The film, Phil the Alien, and the guy, Phil the Alien, are the creation of Rob Stefaniuk, a 33-year-old writer-director from Toronto who plays the eponymous extraterrestrial. The low-budget movie – about an alien with a talking beaver best friend (voiced by Joe Flaherty) who unknowingly thwarts a gang of fur-coat-wearing American secret service agents living in a lair under Niagara Falls – is one of the most absurd, joke-dense movies ever produced in this country (unofficially: no more than four minutes go by without a gag). It seems destined for cult status, soon to be acted out by the same people who do The Simpsons and Monty Python at the photocopier every Monday: Remember when Phil runs through the forest and Rush is playing and [alien shriek goes here? Phil the Alien was the surprise hit of the Toronto International Film Festival last fall; it came in as an independent feature from a relative unknown and left with a distribution deal from Lion’s Gate Films.

Cameron Mathison, the lead character of WASHED UP is a daytime TV Star on ALL MY CHILDREN and has won many awards, and was the host of the 2004 reality series I WANNA BE A SOAP STAR. Liisa Repo-Martel is a bonifide star of the stage with numerous plays under her belt at the Culpepper Theatre as well as appearing in the 2004 film A TOUCH OF PINK.

How would you react if three years after the death of your father, you receive a letter signed by him inviting you to visit an abandoned house in the middle of nowhere in China? Curious in nature, you decide to set off on this adventure. Here's the snag, when you arrive in front of the house (which looks more like a bunker), you realize that there are other visitors summoned as well. Four guys show up with the same letter you have! All five characters, Monk, Casino, Black Jack, Shang and Poker have something in common. All carry guns, have dangerous reputations and are wanted by the police. Unexpectedly the door to the house is opened by a mysterious woman and shortly after entering they notice that they are all locked inside. The house is surrounded by police and they can not escape the psychotic killer that wants to wipe them out. After shocking plot twists and with a growing suspicion of each other, they come to realize that they have only one hour to live.
